How to Pass CompTIA A+

The CompTIA A+ is a very sensitive exam that is easy to pass but also can be tricky in its approach. The A+ Exam certify you for your experience in installing, maintenance, trouble shooting and engineering of the computer systems and its related peripheral technology. Below i have outlined steps that i think will give you an edge into not only passing the exams but also doing well as an A+ Technician either for your firm or as an entrepreneur. 

STEP 1 : GET THE HARD CORE EXPERIENCE

I use the term hardcore because of what i intend to buttress on with this kind of experience. i am not talking about training with an semi level A+ Training Center, well this might come in handy, but the kind of experience you need to take your role as a technician to another level is an on field experience or an institute dedicated to teaching Computer engineering. To  do this, get to the next computer engineering or repairs center next to you and book for a training program. learn from their day to day problems being brought by customers who intend to repair their computers, printers, monitors, projectors and lots of other technical gadget. Get a feel of how it is done on ground. 

STEP 2 : GATHER MATERIALS

 
Now that you can now repair almost any thing, its now time to start studying for A+. The field name of a certain part or what it is called on the street might be completely different from what compTIA calls it. So now you need to gather the write materials and start studying. I my case i gathered a lot of materials and i will list most of them and how you can get them for free. Please dont tell that i told you. just Kidding. Ok lets gather all we need now

• Books :Search on the net for training Kit that you can go along with, some are for money and some are free. There are many product other there. To get free downloads visit any shared site and type compTIA A+. I recommend the Mike Meyers book and CD on A+ that is what i used e.g http://www.4shared.com
• Materials: There are some materials you need. visit a local store and order for a bad desktop and laptop computer, most of them will  give you for free, also order for a bad printer. You will need this to follow the book in identifying parts. Also you will need a computer running with Window XP Professional, but if you can get older versions of windows operating systems, keep them near by, most especially the window 98. You will also need your notepad or book for jottings and your pen. 
• Practice Questions: Practice questions is very important when wishing to pass the compTIA A+ Exam. You can get practice questions for free through most of the shared site. Try 4shared.com stated earlier and type CompTIA A+ Dumps on the search form.

STEP 3: GET TO STUDY 

With the practical knowledge that you have gathered, this step will not take you up to a month. This is the point where you hit the books, hit the CDs and gather all that you need. Your reading method is left for you to decide. But at the end of your study make sure that you are able to answer all the practice questions  that you downloaded and since A+ is a very  old exam certainly the practice questions available both for free download and for online practice will be much enough to make you ascertain how prepared you are. Please take  account to details. Don't just know AMD Athlon Processor for example, know its properties and in what scenario will you decide to use it over other processors.

STEP 4: REGISTER FOR THE EXAM AND PASS IT.

 Now the time has come for you to write the exam you have over the months been preparing for, have this at the back of your mind. it is possible for you to finish the exam within 30mins but please DON'T  . Take your time and think things through about each question before you jump into answering, some easy questions can end up being the most complex. To register for your exam. I Prefare that you register with any prometric center near you. This can be a good IT Training Institute near your area that offers IT courses and also does prometric exam. Fix a day of your convenience. Make sure that you are ready before you jump into the hall otherwise you will loose the money, you paid for registering the exam.
